New Fund Established To Support The Arts
KOSCIUSKO CO., IN – The ArtFULLY Warsaw Fund was recently established at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to support the Warsaw Public Arts Commission and its mission to develop Warsaw as an engaging place to live, work and play through increasing awareness of arts for all ages. The fund was established with an anonymous donation of $5,000.
Members of the newly formed commission include Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer and his appointees: Paulette Davis, coordinator of the 2016 All New Walk and Wander; Kallie Kirkendall, Warsaw Schools; Melodie Koher, Lakeland Arts Association; Suzie Light, Kosciusko County Community Foundation; Julie Parke, Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts; and Stephanie Salyer, president of the Warsaw Community Development Corporation.
The 2016 All New Walk and Wander, featuring life sized sculptures by Seward Johnson is the commission’s first project. The sculptures to be part of the 2016 summer-long event will be new and different from the sculptures that were in Warsaw in 2014.
“The creation of the ArtFULLY Warsaw Fund is an excellent example of how the City of Warsaw and other partners and donors can work together to enhance the arts without using tax dollars,” said Light.
Donations to support the 2016 All New Walk and Wander can be made to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation and should be designated to the ArtFULLY Warsaw Fund. Checks can be mailed or dropped off to 102 E Market St., Warsaw, IN 46580. Credit card gifts can be made online at www.KCFoundation.org/donate. Gifts made to the Community Foundation will be receipted and are tax-deductible.
