KEDCo Joins Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership
Kosciusko County joined the 10 County Northeast Regional Partnership on Wednesday. “This partnership will bring us greater collaborative opportunities in areas important to our companies,” stated Kosciusko Economic Development Company President George Robertson. In addition to marketing and attraction efforts Robertson noted in the areas of workforce development, talent recruitment and talent retention, “a regional approach brings greater success” to each of the counties involved.
“We share a common workforce pool, companies and vendors like the orthopedic corridor initiative, and infrastructure and logistics corridors,” said Robertson.
Both the county of Kosciusko and the city of Warsaw are supportive of this decision since It will enhance our participation in the Regional Cities Initiative. Mayor Joe Thallemer and Kosciusko County Commissioner Ron Truex attended the signing ceremony in Fort Wayne.
Thallemer noted by joining the partnership “we work towards a shared vision of growth, and a stronger community.”
Kosciusko County joins Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley counties. Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership Chair Joe Pierce noted Kosciusko’s membership was an “important step in creating a region that is bigger, bolder and more assertive.”
Robertson noted KEDCo and local governments would continue to keep strong relationships with partners in North Central Indiana.
