Motorcycle Accident Victim Flown To Lutheran
WARSAW — A motorcyclist was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital Wednesday evening after a vehicle hit his motorcycle on U.S. 30 near Warsaw.
At approximately 7:39 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, emergency personnel responded to a call that a car had collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 325E, Warsaw. A witness reported he had been driving westbound and noticed a motorcycle belonging to Kenneth D. Hillis, 56, South CR 400W, Warsaw, rapidly approaching from behind.
Meanwhile, a vehicle belonging to Landon P. Shelburne, 30, Clinic Court, Warsaw, was waiting to turn left onto the highway. The witness’s vehicle merged into the turn lane and Shelburne proceeded into the roadway, colliding with Hillis’s motorcycle.
Shelburne told police he did not see Hillis’s motorcycle when he made the turn. Responders arrived to find Hillis lying about 35 feet from his motorcycle. He had sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital.
