Donnabelle Newberg
Donnabelle Newberg, 93, Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Signature Healthcare of Bremen.
Donnabelle was born in Donaldson, the daughter of John A. and Sarah (Crum) Johnson on March 27, 1922. On Sept. 2, 1945, Donnabelle became the bride of Harold E. Newberg at her parent’s home in Donaldson, he preceded her in passing on Feb. 21, 1962. Donnabelle previously worked for Hawthorn Melody as the bookkeeper and also for Balloon Wurks. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson. Donnabelle was also a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Ladies Auxiliary and the Modern Maids.
Donnabelle is survived by her three loving daughters: Judy Newberg; Janet Newberg; and Joan Hunt, all of Plymouth; her sister: Marymae Stephenson, Plymouth; sisters-in-law: Eiffie Newberg, Lakeland, Fla. She is preceded in passing my her parents; husband; and son-in-law: William P. Hunt.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is caring for the Newberg family. A funeral in honor of Donnabelle will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Pastor Mark Harder officiating. Burial will follow at the New Oak Hill Cemetery. A time of visiting with the Newberg family will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The Newberg family request memorial contributions in honor of Donnabelle be made to The Evangelical Covenant Church, Donaldson, or Center of Hospice Care, Plymouth.
