James D. ‘Jim’ Pittman
James D. “Jim” Pittman, 72 of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at home in the care of his family.
Jim was born March 25, 1943, in Elkhart County, to Roscoe and Catherine (Daily) Pittman. He previously was a resident of Elkhart before moving to Plymouth six years ago to be closer to his family.He was self-employed residential contractor. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Jim is survived by two daughters: Christine (Rick) Beldon, Plymouth; Kimberly (Steve) Scott, Argos; one son: Terry (Eydie) Pittman, Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister: Carol Phillips, Elkhart; and one brother: Dale (Sally) Pittman, Bremen. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Nancy; Mary; and Patricia; and two brothers: Dave and Chalmer.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is caring for the Pittman family. A graveside service will be held in honor of Jim at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at New Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Van Gilder Funeral Service, Plymouth.
