Weston E. Souther
Weston E. Souther, 42, Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at his home. Born March 24, 1973, in Kalamazoo, Mich., he was the son of Robert Sr. and Rose Mary Souther.
As a boy, his family moved from Michigan to rural Indiana. Weston loved spending time outdoors and camping as a boy. He attended Columbia City Joint High School where he played football. While in high school, he painted with his dad and brother at Reiff, Inc. After graduating with the Class of 1991, Weston moved to Fort Wayne and left Reiff and started working construction with an Amish crew. Within a few years, he began building homes for Skyline Builders. Weston volunteered at a local church and helped serve food at the holidays. He also enjoyed traveling to and participating in Civil War reenacting.
Having an adventurous side to him, he enjoyed a trip to Canada to go rafting with his church that he attended and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and horse, Joe. Weston was the backbone of his family, always being there for his family, including being a power-of-attorney to his dad; and he was the one to come to for any type of help. He also enjoyed teasing and making his family and friends smile, including his refrigerator jokes to his nephews. All of these qualities will be missed.
He is survived by his father: Robert Souther Sr., Warsaw; mother: Rose Mary Souther, Harlan; sisters: Sarah Souther, Harland; and Julie Souther, Fort Wayne; nieces: Kayla Rush; Brook Rush; Hailey Souther; Autumn Souther; and Amber Souther; and nephews: Will and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his father: Robert L. Souther Jr., on June 13, 2008.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Eberhard Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest by his brother. Memorial gifts may be given in his memory towards funeral expenses, I.C.O. Rose Souther.
