Lavina Alderfer
Lavina Alderfer, 68, Cromwell, passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.
She was born July 31, 1947, to Lewis and Mildred (Warren) Bules. On Nov. 20, 1965, she married Wayne Alderfer in Etna Green.
She is survived by her husband: Wayne; four children: Lewis Alderfer; Eric Alderfer; Jeannette (Joe) Pinkerton, all of Cromwell; Lynette Fritz, Flower Mound, Texas; eight grandchildren: Christian; Cayla; Eric Jr.; Caleb; Cean; Corey; Dalton; and Chelsea; four sisters: Donna (Larry) Brubaker; Kay Smith; Pam (Tom) Gibson; Rosemary (Roger) Kunkle. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather: Owen Ecker.
She was a Mentone High School graduate. Lavina retired from Starcraft RV after 11 years of dedicated service. She was the President of the Cromwell Town Council, President the Cromwell Historical Society, and involved with the children’s ministry at The Rock Church in Cromwell. She was a part of the business association, festival committee, Noble County Board Visitors Bureau and Park Board.
A funeral service will be held in Lavina’s honor at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. Pastors Gary and Sarah Tuttle will officiate. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cromwell Historical Society or the Cromwell Festival Committee.
