Mary Lou Richardson
Former Rochester resident, Mrs. Mary Lou Richardson, 84, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in Sylvania, Ohio, where she had resided since 2009.
On Jan. 29, 1931, Mary Lou Morris was born in Fulton County the cherished daughter of Ross P. and Helen C. Souder Morris. A proud graduate of the former Tippecanoe High School of Tippecanoe, Mary was the valedictorian of the Class of 1949.
Mary Lou and James M. Richardson were married in South Bend on March 14, 1953. They shared 51 years of life’s adventures. He passed away on December 22, 2004. From their union came three wonderful children Regan, Tim and Jay. Over the years, the added blessings of two more generations have been added to the family tree.
Retiring from factory management, Mary Lou considered herself a career mother and a farm wife. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching sports and playing with her three dogs, Barty, Brenna and Carly.
Left to treasure Mary Lou’s memory are her daughter: Regan (Gary) Brock, Sylvania, Ohio; two sons: Jay (Laurie) Richardson, Homosassa, Fla.; Tim (Debbie) Richardson, Knox; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Shirley Morris, Bourbon; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mary in death are her parents; husband; and two brothers: William ‘Billy’ Morris; and James ‘Jim’ Morris.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 30, at Good Family Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society at www.toledohumane.org.
