Warsaw Quartet Receive ISCA Awards
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association issued its state All-District and Top Team award winners for the 2015 season. Among the area players were three Warsaw girls soccer team members and one Warsaw boys soccer team member.
The Girls All-District First Team for District 2 included Warsaw forward Elizabeth Van Wormer, who graduates from the program as the all-time leading scorer with 70 goals and holds nearly every offensive record in the program’s history. Van Wormer was also chosen for the ISCA Top Team for District 2.
Also on the First Team for District 2 were Alyssa Hershberger and Aylissa Trosper of Goshen, Ellie Lengacher and Bailey O’Dell of Northridge, Arika Flickinger of NorthWood and Riley Hochstetler of Westview. On the Second Team for District 2 are Brenna Shipley of Warsaw, Brey Baltazar and Jade Thompson of Northridge, Gabi Nolan of Elkhart Central, Alexx Freshour of Elkhart Memorial and Kennedy Kubica of Culver Academy.
Girls Top Team members for Division 2 include Van Wormer, Lengacher, Hershberger, Hochstetler, Mariah DeFreese of Concord, Margaret McKinnis of Culver Academy, Meghan Knoff of Elkhart Central, Kirstin Huber of Elkhart Memorial, Kara Morwood of Plymouth and Rylee Carothers of NorthWood.
The Boys All-District First Team for District 2 includes Paco Ocampo of Concord, Javier Vera of Elkhart Central, Jamie Garcia of Elkhart Memorial, Juan Castaneda and Sebastian Flores of Goshen and Uriel Macias of West Noble. On the Second Team for District 2 are Vincent Stone and Spencer Van Der Weele of Argos, Ryan Bloom of East Noble, Cosmo Disori of Elkhart Central, Brayan Vargas of Elkhart Memorial and Alejandro Rosales of Goshen.
Boys Top Team members for Division 2 include Lucas Cone of Warsaw, Chandler Campbell of Argos, Jesus Garcia of Bremen, Anthony Saleh of Concord, Mauricio Bailleres of Culver Academy, Michael Sanchez of East Noble, Trevor Piazza of Elkhart Central, Alexis Martinez of Goshen, Colin Legault of Northridge, Colin Calvert of Plymouth and Hector Luevano of West Noble.
Warsaw girls soccer head coach Peter Lucht was tabbed as Large School District Coach of the Year and Coach of the Year for District 2.
