Lary Dale “Red Eye” Reed
Lary Dale “Red Eye” Reed, of the Cromwell-Syracuse area, passed away Friday Oct. 30, 2015 following a brief illness, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was 56 years old. He was born Aug. 29, 1959 the son of Dale and Mary Reed in Goshen. Like a wise man, he never married.
He is survived by his mother, Mary (Billy) Stump of Goshen; 3 sisters, Dawnice Alexander of Elgin, Ill., Shawn Vanderpoool of Goshen, and Sharon (Steve) Warstler of Butler; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Clayton, Adrienne, Nathan and Logan; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Reed; sister, Ramona Oberlin; nephew, Nick Henson; brother-in-law, Mike Vanderpool; and his beloved dog “B.D.”
Lary served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp from 1977-1980. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier and an avid football fan. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. “If Lary had a dollar, everyone had a dollar.” He will be greatly missed by all the family and friends that he loved to spend time with.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier.
A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier. A private family graveside service with full military honors will be held at a later date in Oak Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans or Kosciusko County Humane Society.
