The Week in Preview
Story times are coming inside for the month of November. Monday’s story time is creating a book called, “I can Do It.” Tuesday’s story time is beginning a month of Leaves, Scarecrows, Turkeys: all things fall. The story times are open to any preschool age children who want to drop in at 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
The young adult book club is answering trivia that have to do with Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, and Greek and Roman mythology. Teens are invited to come for some snack food at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Every thought about writing a book? Sometimes all one needs is a little encouragement. November is Nation Novel Writing Month, long for NaNoWriMo. During NaNoWriMo participants are challenged to write 50,000 words. The library is hosting a place for participants to meet and work at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and Wednesday, Nov. 11. Healthy snacks are provided to make it easier to get going after an already long day. Stop in on these two Wednesdays for camaraderie and encouragement. Come to the writing room in the adult department. More information is available on our site at www.syracuse.lib.in.us, or by calling (574) 457-3022.
Friends members are inviting new people to come to a monthly meeting on 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. The group is sponsoring a wish tree and starting some other interesting activities. Later in the day knitting and crocheting for children meets at 5 p.m. and at 6 p.m. for adults. Bring what you are working on or come for project ideas and to get help.
