Spanking, Threatening Ex With Scissors Lands Man In Jail
WARSAW — Jeffrey Shelton Jr., 32, 35 Fairlane Drive, Warsaw, was arrested Monday, Nov. 2, on preliminary charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stem from an Oct. 11, 2014, incident where he struck his girlfriend on the buttocks and threatened her with a pair of scissors.
According to court documents filed on Dec. 10, 2014, police were called to Shelton’s residence where his former girlfriend, Crystal Wingett reported he had struck her across the buttocks causing her pain. Shelton who was present when police arrived, admitted he did slap her across the bottom. Police could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
According to Wingett, she had ended the relationship with Shelton and made arrangements to get the remainder of her belongings. She stated she had received a text message from him calling her white trash and stating when she arrived to obtain her belongings he would be armed.
While Wingett was at the residence, Shelton struck her on the buttocks causing pain. She descried the blow as a stinging pain. While in the dining room, he entered the room with a 6-inch to 8-inch pair of scissors in his hand, stating she was lucky he hadn’t killed her. He placed the blades of the scissors against her neck hard enough she could feel the blades. After she asked he put the scissors in his pocket, Shelton stated he wasn’t going to do it, but two other people were going to bash her skull in.
Police did observe the scissors on a desk style table.
He was held on a $4,000 surety bond.
