Altrusa Club Receives District, International Updates
WARSAW — Altrusa International of Warsaw received updates from Altrusa International and District Six at their club meeting on Nov. 5. District Six First Vice Governor Becky Ray from Lexington, Ky., shared greetings and information with members.
Ray, a cancer survivor, has been married for 37 years and has a son and twin granddaughters. Now retired, she sits on the District Six Board of Directors serving Altrusans in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
Club members reflected on their service project, Bingo for Beaman Home, a sold out event that raised over $8,000 for Beaman’s programs and services, and on their recent fundraiser at Culvers raising $250 for club projects. Four members recently represented the club at Lincoln Elementary School’s Fall Literacy Night supporting their Adopt-A-Class. At the same time several others served the club’s monthly meal to children at Bakers Youth Club. Members will be ringing the bell for Salvation Army at K-Mart from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 30.
The local club has served the Kosciusko County community for over 42 years. They meet at noon on the first Thursday of each month at the KREMC building east of Warsaw and at 5:30 p.m. on the third Thursday, at Richard’s Restaurant.
Altrusa meetings are open to anyone who would like to participate in area service projects. More information may be found on their website at www.altrusa.org or by visiting Altrusa-Warsaw on Facebook. Members may also be reached at [email protected].
