Creighton Wins ‘Best Of Show’ For Painting
FORT WAYNE — Area artist Steve Creighton was awarded Best of Show for his “Untitled Still Life” oil painting at the 56th annual Grant County Art Association’s Fall Fine Art Show in Marion.
His painting topped works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, mixed media and photography. In addition, he was awarded first place in Oils for his “Floral Study” painting, and honorable mention for his landscape titled “Pond’s Edge.” Creighton’s studio and gallery are located in Warsaw. He is a member of Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Hoosier Salon, Lakeland Art Association and several other Indiana art guilds and associations. The show was judged by Patrick Kluesner, an accomplished artist whose background includes oil painting and advertising illustration. His most famous creation was the Coca-Cola Santa seen in holiday ads. Kluesner’s work has earned awards from the Advertising Club of Indianapolis, Indiana Plein Air Painters, Indiana State Fair, Richmond Art Museum and Art Associations in Henry, Madison, Randolph and Hancock Counties.
