Final 2015 Grace College Lancer Day This Weekend
WINONA LAKE — Grace College hosts Lancer Days throughout the year to welcome groups of high school students and parents interested in learning what the college has to offer as they consider where to invest in higher education.
The last Lancer Day of 2015 will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Grace College, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake.
Although prospective students may schedule a campus tour any time, Lancer Days offer a unique view into life at Grace College. Families receive a student-led tour, meet with a number of faculty, eat lunch in the dining commons and attend chapel. Students may also spend the night in a Grace residence hall if they choose.
“Students who visit during Lancer Days have the opportunity to survey the 60-plus majors at Grace, the diverse student activities and clubs, learn about the many financial assistance opportunities and how Grace College is making quality, Christian education attractive and affordable,” said Cindy Sisson, Grace College Vice President of Enrollment Management.
As Grace College pursues innovative, market-driven responses to a changing higher education landscape marked by concerns about affordability and accessibility, it is seeing positive results. In 2015, Grace achieved a record enrollment for the fourth consecutive year. Since August, Grace College has experienced a significant increase in prospective student visits – up a full 40 percent from last year.
Measure of Grace, which began this fall at Grace College, provides undergraduate students a $500 reduction in tuition for each consecutive year they attend Grace. They also receive free textbook rentals for the entirety of their enrollment, which equates to $4,800 over four years.
Grace’s three-year accelerated bachelor’s degree program, launched in 2011, allows students to graduate sooner, save a year’s tuition and enter the workforce a year earlier. Many students are also taking advantage of the opportunity to procure a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just four years total.
“We are encouraged by the increasing number of families who are considering and choosing Grace for their higher education institution of choice. We look forward to welcoming many new families at Lancer Day on Nov. 13,” Sisson said.
