PIERCETON — The Pierceton Fire Department held its annual Open House Oct. 9. This year, the fire department teamed up with Paragon Medical Inc. and The American Red Cross to make the event even more successful.
Several hundred families came to experience in the fun and enjoy the free dinner that was available. During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to sign up for free smoke alarms. Thirty-five families took advantage of this opportunity.
Over the last several weeks, members of the three organizations have been collaborating to install alarms in the homes of those that signed up during the event. However, the opportunity to sign up for alarms is not over. Those who are still in need of smoke alarms can contact the Pierceton Fire Department at (574) 594-2132 or (260) 609-6982 or by email at [email protected].
Signup is also available in person at the Pierceton town clerk’s office. This signup is not restricted to a certain township or area.
The Pierceton Fire Department always accepts applications to join either of their programs for fire services or first responders. Contact any of the previously listed methods above for questions regarding the application process.
