No Shave November
Miss Kitson has taken on the role of mascot and reader’s adviser, however, she could use some help. During the week of Monday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 21, readers at the library are invited to leave your name to become Miss Kitson’s assistant for a week during the year. Look for Miss Kitson at the front desk, she will be celebrating No Shave November, and turn-in your name. Miss Kitson is tired of the same old books that the staff has been reading.
No Shave November has become an excuse for men to experiment with not shaving. Not shaving is nothing new. Stop at the front desk to pick-up a match the mustache game to identify celebrity not-shaving-forays.
“The Hunger Games”
In 2008, science fiction readers read “The Hunger Games” and spent the next two years awaiting the phenomenal conclusion. In spite of knowing the plot, fans of the movie series have the long awaited opportunity to watch the big-screen conclusion this Friday. The movies have represented the images from the books with startling clarity. “The Hunger Games” series is an example where readers provide a platform for authors to write stories that become movies.
