‘A Visit With Santa’ Brings Fun And Snow
NORTH WEBSTER — Santa Claus arrived in North Webster and brought the North Pole snow with him Saturday, Nov. 21. First he visited with area kids and they were able to take home a free photo of themselves with him. Each child received a gift from Santa also.
Then Santa boarded a local fire truck and headed to Pilcher Shoes’ lawn where he lit the town of North Webster Christmas tree, in spite of the weather.
The well attended, free event drew a larger than usual crowd because of its inside location according to many parents and grandparents. The kids enjoyed games, bounce houses, coloring, crafts, pizza, and book reading during the event “A Visit with Santa,” sponsored annually by the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce.
The outdoor portion was cut short by the weather but Santa posed for pictures in front of the tree lit up with strings of lights purchased and installed by the chamber. The chamber also is responsible for the nativity scene and the Santa and sleigh on the lawn.
Chamber President Sue Ward, Sue’s Creations, noted, “It is a fun way to thank the community for all its support of the local merchants and organizations.”
