Toddler Injured In SR 114 Accident Wednesday
NORTH MANCHESTER — A toddler, seat belted in the front passenger seat, suffered severe facial and head lacerations following a two-vehicle accident at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24. The accident was on SR 114 at the intersection of Ogden Road.
Police believe the toddler’s injuries may have been prevented if proper child restraint equipment had been utilized and properly positioned.
Ainsley Duffy 2, was transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. The driver of the vehicle, Jessica M. Duffy, 39, North Manchester, complained of pain to her knee, left hand and chest. She was also transported to Lutheran Hospital.
Wabash County Sheriff’s Department reports the investigation shows James M. Watson, 86, Roann, was westbound when he failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle driven by Duffy. The two vehicles collided. Watson was not injured.
Assisting at the scene were North Manchester Police Department, Pleasant Township Fire Department and LifeMed.
