NORTH WEBSTER — Are you working on a Christmas craft or making a holiday gift? Bring it to the North Webster Library to work on while enjoying the company of other crafters during Craft and Chat 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Craft and Chat takes place the second Wednesday afternoon each month. It is an informal, friendly time of visiting with one another while each works on their individual craft project — whether it be knitting, needlepoint, scrapbooking, jewelry making — whatever you enjoy doing. It’s a fun way to finish your project and make new friends in the process.
Kids like crafts, too. Every Tuesday after school at 4 p.m., children in kindergarten through fifth-grade are invited to the library to do crafts while listening to stories. Tuesday Crafts and Stories will be held every Tuesday in December including during Christmas school break.
You will find lots of creativity at Second Saturday LEGO Club from 1-2:30 p.m. Dec. 12, for ages 5 to 12. The library supplies the LEGOs as the kids have fun building whatever their imaginations inspire. Parents have as much fun as the kids, and it’s a great way to spend quality time with your child.
Watching movies together at home is another good way to spend time with your family. During the library’s December DVD Dash, you can watch movies for chances to win a free Blu-Ray DVD player. Each time you check out five DVDs or videos between now and Dec. 30, you can enter the grand prize drawing for a Blu-Ray player. The more you check out, the more chances you get to win.
The library has a large selection of adult and children’s movies to choose from ranging from the latest releases to golden classics. The drawing will take place Jan. 4, and you must be 18 and older to enter.
Now that winter weather has made its debut, the library will keep its patrons informed of closings due to inclement weather through announcements on radio stations, television stations and Facebook. You can continue to access our online catalog, renew materials, download e-books and movies, and access databases and other resources through our website.
