Martha Darlene Perry
Martha Darlene Perry of Warsaw, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw at the age of 75.
She was born on August 26, 1940 in Kosciusko County, to Wilbur Perry and Geraldine (Loher) Perry.
Her father died unexpectedly in an automobile accident when Martha was 9 years old. At that point she became the “man of the family” and became responsible for helping her mother and took care of the family farm. Martha was a lifelong cattle and grain farmer….always a hard worker and she resided on the family farm her entire lifetime. She had also worked at Lake City Bank for many years and even worked at Zimmer Inc. in Warsaw for over 20 years. Martha was the sexton of Palestine Cemetery in Palestine for many years.
She loved anything John Deere but most of all she loved her dog Missy. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind two sister: Janice Irene Hatfield, Mentone; Dawn Brooks, Corinth, Miss.; and three nieces; seven great-nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Wayne Balmer. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Palestine Cemetery in Palestine.
