WARSAW — Kosciusko Community Hospital and Lutheran EMS Kosciusko presented a check for $1,470 to Warsaw Community High School allowing WCHS to purchase an automated external defibrillator to be placed in the swimming pool arena.
Edgewood Nurse Tracey Akers said, “When assessing WCHS facilities and to create a safer environment for our students as well as visitors, the addition of an AED device to the Career Center was considered a valuable and necessary piece of equipment.
“We have not only read and heard about how these devices save lives, we have witnessed it first hand in our building, as an AED unit was used this last summer to help save a student’s life. The Warsaw Area Career Center and the Community Pool are very well-used areas on a year round basis. We sincerely appreciate KCH and Lutheran EMS for providing the funds to purchase an AED to be housed in this area of the high school.”
