Elizabeth Betty Parcel
Elizabeth Ann “Bety” Parcel, 84, of Winamac, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015m at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.
She was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Winamac, to Cyril and Mildred Costello Widup. Betty married Kermit “Buck” Parcel on April 26, 1951 in Star City. Buck survives.
Betty was a member of the Winamac First Presbyterian Church. She worked as a secretary for the former Rice Corporation in Winamac. She then worked for Pulaski County Abstract at Winamac. Betty also worked as church secretary at the Winamac First Presbyterian Church for 31 years.
Betty enjoyed walking and egg decorating. She loved her flower garden especially her roses. She and Denise frequently traveled to the Smokey Mountains and went on shopping trips.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: a daughter: Denise Parcel, Winamac; a son: Mark Parcel, Winamac; a sister: Mary Lou (Branson) Hiatt, Walkerton; and a brother: James (Eunice) Widup, Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her father: Cyril Widup; mother: Mildred Costello Widup Lehman; stepfather: Harold Lehman; sister: Judith Lees; and brother: Paul Widup.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. Burial will take place in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
