North Webster Closes State Revolving Fund Loan
NORTH WEBSTER — The town of North Webster closed a low interest loan in the amount of $3.5 million through the Indiana Finance Authority’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program. It will finance the necessary expansion of the town’s wastewater treatment facilities.
By utilizing the SRF loan program instead of securing a traditional loan, the town will save an estimated $642,150 of interest expense during the life of the loan.
Construction of upgrades and improvements to the treatment and collection system were financed by CWSRG. The program is administered by the Indiana Finance Authority with joint funding by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Indiana State Revolving Loan Fund Loan Program.
The project rehabilitates the aging wastewater treatment plant, rehabilitates the collection systems and expands the capacity of the existing plant to allow North Webster to provide service to nearby communities.
The project will provide water quality and health benefits by maintaining compliance with the town’s effluent limits. It will maintain the environment for community residents and businesses throughout the town of North Webster.
CWSRF programs operate around the country to provide states and communities the resources necessary to maintain and improve the infrastructure protecting valuable water resources nationwide.
