Beverly J. Gunter 86, Mishawaka, and formerly of Fulton County, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 5, 2015, at the Sanctuary of St. Paul, South Bend.

She was born on June 6, 1929, in Clay Township, Cass County, the daughter of John S. and Mildred June (Sloop) Wray. On June 8, 1947, in Logansport, she married Virgil E. Gunter. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1988.

Mrs. Gunter had been a homemaker and had helped her husband with their auto body shop in Marshtown. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church.

Survivors include her sons: David L. (Cathy) Gunter, Logansport; Dwight (Ruth) Gunter, Rochester; Dana A. (Rosa E.) Gunter, Bremen; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister: Sharon (Kenneth) Powell, Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Dwayne Gunter; brothers: Kermit Wray; Delbert Wray; and Galen Wray; and sisters: Ruth Wilson; and Madge Blaney.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Association.
