Gold Coin Found In Red Kettle In Mishawaka
MISHAWAKA — A big donation for the Salvation Army. Someone dropped a gold coin into a red kettle.
For the fifth year, a Krugerrand, which is from South Africa, was found in bucket outside of the Sam’s Club in Mishawaka.
In previous years, the coin could fetch up a $1,000 and it comes wrapped in a $100 U.S. bill and with a message.
This year, the message says “a nation cannot kill its way to peace.”
The Salvation Army says the note aligns with its own message.
By the way, it’s always found in the bucket with the same bell ringer year after year.
But that bell ringer says he is not the one donating the coin.
