North Central Co-Op Offering Eight College Scholarships
WABASH — North Central Co-op’s scholarship program is an annual initiative to help support students seeking a college education. NCC continues its commitment to future agricultural professionals with eight high school senior scholarship awards, one Huntington University scholarship and the third annual Darrell L. Smith honorary scholarship.
This year, NCC will offer eight scholarships to high school seniors. To be eligible, applicants must be a child or grandchild of a current stockholder, patron, or employee of NCC and be entering their freshman year of college or trade school in 2016. Selection priority is based on involvement in agricultural youth groups, such as at least five years in 4-H and/or at least two years in FFA.
New this year, NCC will provide one additional scholarship to a student of Huntington University enrolled in an agriculture-related program for the 2016 academic year. For the third consecutive year, NCC’s annual Darrell L. Smith honorary scholarship will be awarded to a junior in college pursuing a degree in agriculture with an intention to work in the agricultural industry following graduation.
NCC began its scholarship offerings in 2001 and has now awarded over 50 scholarships totaling over $90,000 since the program began. Students interested in applying for these scholarships or learning more about NCC should visit the website at www.ncc.coop or contact David Smith at (800) 992-3495 extension 279. Completed scholarship applications must be submitted on or before March 1, 2016.
