Appreciation Expressed To Firefighters And EMS
NORTH WEBSTER — Local employees and volunteers of the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were celebrated with a dinner and awards recently. The event was held at the Tippecanoe Township Building.
Named as Emergency Medical Technician of 2015 was Rosalie Hughes while Trent Nabinger was Paramedic of the Year. Nabinger also received the Firefighter of the Year award and Scott Gerkey took home the training award. Dave Rensberger earned the Fire Chief’s award and First Responder was Josh Gunkel.
One of the highlights of the evening was the appearance of John and Renee Skaggs. They were able to attend their first outing after months of John fighting a devastating illness. It was an emotional time as the couple thanked the township family for supporting them during the months of John’s hospitalization. He is now on the mend.
The enjoyable program was presented by lifelong local resident Phil Metcalf about “Growing Up in North Webster.” The Sleepy Owl Supper Club catered and Emily Thomas performed Christmas music.
