SYRACUSE — Upcoming events and programs at Syracuse Public Library
Relax at the Library
Many adults have tried to knit or crochet when they were younger but didn’t continue. The Syracuse Library is offering assistance to start some fulfilling wintertime crafts. Children and adults are encouraged to work on knitting or crocheting projects each Thursday this winter.
Children are invited to come into the library at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, adults to come in at 5:30 p.m. until closing. Supplies to try knitting or crocheting are provided by the library.
Special Groups
The young adult book club is meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, for a scavenger hunt and to make no bake cookies. The book club meets again in January; however, there are other activities for young people in the library over the holidays. Teens can work on coloring pages, piece a puzzle or play a board game.
Meet Doctor Who is meeting a week early at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. A timey-wimey snack will be served while the group watches parts 2 and 3 of the birth of Riversong. These are exciting adventures from season six. Those attending will learn how to tie a bowtie. All ages are invited to the group. Children are accompanied with an adult.
Lego Build is meeting on the third Saturday of the month now. Children are welcome to come at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, to spend as much time as they like building with a group or making an individual creation.
