SEABURN, U.K. — Since Greyhounds are so notoriously lean, they don’t carry around much body fat. Thus, they tend to be super sensitive to the cold.
Jan Brown, a 52-year-old mom in Seaburn, UK, was moved by the plight of these super frail pups — so much so that she quit her job in 2012 to dedicate her time to knitting sweaters and keeping them warm.
According to her website, Brown “started off hand knitting dog coats to raise money and awareness for the Greyhound Rescue Northeast.” However, after becoming “inundated with orders for coats, hats, neck warmers for all shape and size of dog,” Brown decided at the beginning of 2012 Brown decided to “finish work and knit full time.”
