Yeo Named CL Player Of The Week
HARTFORD CITY – After a standout performance on Dec. 17, the Crossroads League announced Monday that Bethel College junior guard Clay Yeo has earned Player of the Week honors.
Players were nominated for this award by their performance and contributions during the week of December 13-19. Yeo, who earned his first Crossroads League weekly honor of the 2015-16 season, averaged 29.5 points, seven rebounds and five assists while shooting 59 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point line.
The Bourbon native began the week scoring 25 points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out seven assists in a loss to No. 13 Warner University. Yeo connected on 8-of-14 shooting from the field including 2-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Yeo would finish the week with a historical night scoring a career-high 34 points while passing the 1,000-point mark in a 77-75 win against No. 22 Keiser University. Yeo would shoot 61 percent from the field, going 11-of-18 and 4-of-6 from the three-point line, while pulling down five rebounds.
Yeo, who reached the 1,000 point mark in just 47 games, becomes the second-fastest player in Bethel College history to hit the illustrious milestone. Yeo currently stands at No. 54 on Bethel’s all-time scoring list, and currently leads the Crossroads League in scoring and steals, averaging 22.6 points and 2.15 steals per outing.
