Dryer Fire Suspected As Arson
WARSAW — Warsaw Police along with the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory are investigating a fire at Valley Forge Laundromat. According to a police report filed Wednesday evening, Dec. 23, the cause of that fire is being investigated as possibly arson.
The fire call was received at approximately 7:54 p.m. Wednesday evening. Firefighters were still at the scene of a house fire on Lincoln Street, and requested Winona Lake Fire Department assistance.
Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Capt. Brooke Murphy reports when the first fire crew arrived the laundromat, 3100 Frontage Road, Warsaw, had extreme heavy smoke, resulting in zero visibility. In a very quick time, the fire was located and extinguished by firefighters. Firefighters found the fire to be in a dryer full of clothes.
Three clothes dryers were damaged with smoke and a little water damage to the building.
“Winona Lake was instrumental in helping us,” said Murphy.
