Frances Jean ‘Jeannie’ Hamman
Frances Jean “Jeannie” Hamman, 74, of Syracuse, passed away at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Center for Hospice House in Elkhart.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1941 in Syracuse, to Arnold & Marjorie Maxine (Cory) Hall.
She attended Syracuse, Cromwell, and Milford public schools and was a lifetime area resident except for three years that she lived in Alabama. On June 29, 1968, in Syracuse she married Arliss Deloy Hamman who preceded her on June 30, 1981.
She was a homemaker, formerly worked as a babysitter and at the Frog Tavern in Syracuse.
She attended Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle in Kimmel, and formerly attended Zion Union Church in Syracuse.
She is survived by: one daughter: Dawn Marie (Ron) Sweet of North Webster; one son: William Deloy “Billy” (Hattie) Hamman of Wawaka; one stepson: James “Jim” Hamman of Goshen; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters: Beckyjo (Frederick) Hewitt of North Webster, Bitsie Ann (Jim) Murphy of Fremont, Martha Ellen “Marty” Atkins of Mishawaka, Margaret Elizabeth Rockenbaugh of Warsaw, and Mary Burns of Etna Green; and two brothers: Harvey Monroe (Deb) Hall of North Webster, and Arnold Vern “Pete” Hall of Warsaw
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three infant brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, in the funeral home with Pastor Glen Patrick of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle in Kimmel and Pastor Purda Hicks of the Full Gospel Revival Center in Rome City officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
