Ardith J. ‘Joan’ Shear
Ardith J. “Joan” Shear, 87, Syracuse, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on May 15, 1928, in North Webster, to Charles Dewey and Fern (Winebrenner) Scott.
She was a lifetime North Webster and Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1946 from North Webster High School. On July 30, 1946 in North Webster she married Francis W. “Sock” Shear who preceded her on June 28, 2010. She was homemaker, worked as custodian for North Webster High School and was a former co-owner of Socks Marina in North Webster.
She was a member of Salem Community Missionary Church in Wilmot.
She is survived by two daughters: Brenda (Gary) Clark, Summerfield, Fla.; and Lisa Shear, Grand Prairie, Texas; one son: Bill Shear, Churubusco; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and one sister: Jean (Roger) Long, Larwill. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at the Salem Cemetery in Wilmot. Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of the arrangements.
