Beverage Board Grants New Permit For Oakwood
WARSAW — The Alcoholic Beverage Board of Kosciusko County approved four alcoholic beverage permit renewals at its hearing Thursday, Jan. 7, in Warsaw. The board also approved new catering hall permits for Oakwood Resort.
The three-man board approved two new catering hall permits for alcoholic beverages for Oakwood Resort. There were no remonstrators.
Oakwood Resort previously had a consignment/catering permit. However, since the business has different addresses at two different buildings on its property, it had to store alcohol at the resort and haul it to a different building, because of off-site catering rules. The new catering hall permit allows alcohol to be served at either the Oakwood Resort Event Center or its Hilltop Conference Center.
The four renewals are good for one year, however, the businesses must come before the board every two years, unless there is a violation. The renewals were approved for: Wal-Mart in Warsaw, Speedway on East Winona Avenue in Warsaw, The Past Time in Pierceton, and Redwood Firewood Grill and Bar in Warsaw.
Wal-Mart is a beer, wine and liquor dealer, while Speedway is a beer and wine dealer. The Past Time and Redwood serve beer, wine and liquor at their restaurants.
The board members are: President Gordon Vanator, Kenneth D. Johnson and Elim Smith.
