Swiss Valley Ski Resort Announces Opening Day Of Short Season
JONES, MICH. — Swiss Valley Ski Resort near Jones, Michigan has announced its official opening date.
“We’ve missed all of Christmas, we’re getting into the second week of January, that’s not good,” said James Wiseman, Swiss Valley Owner.
Thanks to the recent snowfall and the colder temperatures, the resort has enough of a base to open up. That’s at least 28 inches of snow.
“We will not have everything open, but we’re putting some major runs in right now,” said Wiseman.
Wiseman also says it costs about $4,000 an inch to make snow themselves for the short season.
