King Files Candidacy For Senate District 12
INDIANAPOLIS — Business owner and community leader Joanna King, Middlebury, files for her declaration of candidacy for the Indiana State Senate in district 12 with the office of the Secretary of State in Indianapolis, Thursday, Jan. 7.
District 12 is comprised of Benton, Concord, Clinton, Elkhart, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Middlebury, Washington and York townships in Elkhart County and Turkey Creek Township in Kosciusko County. This will place Joanna on the Republican Primary ballot on May 3.
King brings a wealth of experience to this position as mom and entrepreneur in Elkhart County. Along with her husband Levi, King owns several small businesses including JoJo’s Pretzels in Goshen and Shipshewana and The Cinnamon Stick in Middlebury. She serves on the Boys and Girls Club Board and the Middlebury Community School Board in addition to being a small business owner. King has been a part of Elkhart County her entire life. She is married to Levi King. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have four children, a son-in-law, and a grandson. King has deep roots in Elkhart County. “I look forward to working hard for the families in this district.
