Investigators Provide Eerie Insight To Local Haunting
WARSAW — This weekend national audiences will be able to peek inside the alleged haunting of a local home by tuning into paranormal investigation TV show, “A Haunting.” Though former home owner Jennifer Patterson had never considered herself a believer in spirits before residing in a home located in the area of CR 100S, Warsaw, the inexplainable events that happened to both Patterson and her family left her terrified and seeking answers.
“We investigated Jennifer’s home a few times in efforts to help her find the answers for what she had going on,” stated Tina Hicks Lano, co-founder of the female-led paranormal research organization The Original ParaSisters. “We were blown away with the amount of activity going on in the home.”
According to Patterson, the haunting began with small oddities such as the smell of cologne drifting through the air or a shadowy figure passing watching from the shadows. Lights would turn on and off on their own, doors would open and close, and objects would be both moved and be flung across the room seemingly on their own volition.
It wasn’t until the encounters began to take a violent turn that Patterson became truly terrified. Though these occurrences seemed to happen throughout her home, Patterson slowly realized something more sinister was focused in her basement. After being grabbed by the legs and later shoved down the steps of the basement, Patterson desperately sought assistance from Lano, who provided InkFreeNews with some of the findings within the home.
“We had over 25 EVP’s of male voices, bangs and so forth, so many in fact that upon returning to the home on the second visit, I had the whole team looking for wires or speakers thinking that they were trying to pull one over on us. Much to my surprise, they were not!” stated Lano.
The investigators set up motion activated cameras and EVP recording equipment during their investigations in an attempt to uncover what was occurring within the home. Once in place, Lano noted the cameras did not stop flashing.
“One (camera) was triggered over 110 times in the same night, in the same location,” stated Lano. :(It) only recorded darkness. It is very eerie at 3 a.m. to hear a motion activated camera going off continuously in an empty house in the middle of nowhere.
The camera was not the only “eerie” thing to occur according to Lano. Patterson was reportedly scratched during the investigation by an unseen entity while in the garage of the home.
“We were in the garage attached to the house, and there was a very strong presence in the garage, that really was unhappy about us being in his space. Jennifer was standing in front of a window in the garage, everyone could feel the presence and Jennifer was scratched. She was standing right next to me,” stated Lano.
The garage was not the only area of the home Lano noted something sinister existed. According to the investigators a dark presence, now known as “the Basement Dweller,” left the investigators and Patterson uneasy.
Lano provided one of the 25 recordings captured within a bedroom in the home, noting the room was empty and the door shut when it occurred.
“You can clearly hear someone say ‘not me’ and a sneeze. Which sounds like a male, and on this particular night, we had no males with us. I suggest using earbuds to listen.”
Patterson’s story was picked up by paranormal investigation TV show, “A Haunting,” after producers with the show asked the investigators for one of their most harrowing stories. Immediately, Lano thought of Patterson’s home. The episode, titled “Eternal Grief” will air at 10 p.m. this Sunday, Jan. 17, on Destination America.
