Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:23 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, East CR 500N, east of EMS T7 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Hunter W. Osborne, 20, Timber Trail, Goshen. Osburne swerved to miss an animal, going off the roadway and hitting a utility pole and telephone junction box. Damage up to $10,000.
11:21 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, South CR 700W, south of West CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Brian T. Gambill, 24, West CR 900S, Claypool. Lost control of his vehicle due to the icy road, went off the road and hit a concrete post. Damage up to $10,000.
7:52 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, North SR 13 and EMS B6 Lane, North Webster. Drivers: Max E. Miller, 86, EMS B5 Lane, Leesburg, and Johnathan R. Heckaman, 34, North Harrison Street, Syracuse. Miller’s foot slipped off the brake as he attempted to stop, pulling out onto SR 13 into the path of the Heckaman vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, South Buffalo Street and East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lindsey P. Parker, 16, West Forest Lane, Marion, and Kenneth D. Hedington, 54, North CR 650W, Warsaw. Parker switched travel lanes in front of the Hedington vehicle, causing the Hedington vehicle to hit the back of the Parker vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
11:03 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, Wexford Place, and Pioneer Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Dawn R. Allen, 34, East Catholic Street, Pierceton. Allen’s vehicle slide on ice on the roadway, attempted to correct, but over steered and ran off the roadway hitting a landscaping rock. Damage up to $2,500.
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, Wexford Place, south of Pioneer Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Bunny K. Summerland, 31, South Country Club Road, Warsaw, and Rick A. Hile, 40, Old Colony Road, Warsaw. Summerland lost control of her vehicle on a patch of ice, hitting the Hile vehicle head on. Damage up to $2,500.
9:58 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, West Center Street and North Washington Street, Warsaw. Michael S. Harris, 51, South Union Street, Warsaw. Harris complained of pain to the lower leg and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Harris lost his balance on his moped while turning due to the icy roadway. Damage under $750.
