Claude Gene Mullins
Claude Gene Mullins, 77, Mentone, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, in his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Martin, Ky. to Hampton F. and Florence (Hale) Mullins.
Claude was born and raised in Floyd County, Ky. before moving to Kosciusko County in 1965. Claude served in The United States Army during the Korea and began his trucking career in Ky., after moving here, he began working for Metzger Trucking in Silver Lake, retiring when he 67. He lived more than 20 years with family and friends, Fritz, Shonda, Johnny and Daianara.
He is survived by four sons: Claude David, Pierceton; James Isaac, Pierceton; Craig Hampton, Warsaw; and Claude Mullins Jr., Flat Gap, Ky.; three daughters: Alicia Faye Green, Silver Lake; Amanda Lemaster, Flat Gap, Ky.; and Robin Lewis, also of Flat Gap. Also surviving are two brothers: Hampton Mullins Jr., Warsaw; and Larry Jimmy Mullins, Ky.; and a sister: Avalene Mullins, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; four sisters; and a grandson: Christopher Todd Mullins.
Cremation will take place and a private family burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Stephens Branch, Ky. at a later date.
