Broncos Fans Name Kids Peyton And Brady
LITTLETON, COLO. — When the Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2005, Marcie and Brian Weibler of Littleton named their first born son Brady, after one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
They’re big Broncos fans, which makes the decision to name their son after one of Denver’s biggest rivals counter-intuitive. But even these die-hard Broncos fans find it hard to discount the way Brady plays the game. He has four Super Bowl rings, so it didn’t seem too outlandish to share his name with their son.
But in Broncos country this home seems unbalanced. So when Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl with the Colts in 2007, Marcie and Brian knew they had another name picked out for their second-born son. Brady’s younger brother is Peyton, born Aug. 3, 2007.
Sunday’s AFC Championship game will come with some tension in the Weibler home. Mom and Dad say they never pushed the Patriots on their son. But how couldn’t he be a fan? He will be wearing number 12 on Sunday. Younger brother Peyton will wear 18 in a sibling rivalry created by champions.
The question is, which champion will prevail?
