Janelle Gordon
Janelle Gordon, 74, of Columbia City, passed away at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at her residence. Born on Dec. 7, 1941, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Marlin and Dorothy (McCleery) Conner.
Janelle was a lifetime Whitley County resident. She attended attended Columbia City Joint High School and graduated with the Class of 1960. Janelle was a telephone operator at Untied Telephone early in her working career and then was a secretary for Indiana Die Molding for many years until her retirement in 2001. On April 27, 1990 Janelle married Wayne Gordon at Columbia City United Methodist Church. Janelle enjoyed cooking any and everything, especially comfort foods.
Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years: Wayne Gordon, Columbia City; children: Michelle (Robert) Judd; Marla (Doug) Fahl, both of Columbia City; Bradley (Melissa) Gordon, Huntington; and Tammy (Randy) Kingray, Shepherdsville, Ky.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents: Marlin and Dorothy Conner; and a sister: Marlene Rice.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home, with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.
