FORT WAYNE — A realty organization with a presence in northeast Indiana has released a monthly housing market report. The Upstate Alliance of Realtors Multiple Listing Service Inc. says inventory levels dipped almost 18 percent in December, compared to the same period in 2014.
Inventory levels are now at 2,080 units and median sales prices were up nearly 3 percent to $115,000.
President Dave Mervar says, “2015 was a strong year for real estate sales despite low inventory. Currently, monthly stats reflect the time of season we are in and reflect current consumer outlook on the economy. 2016 looks as promising as 2015 if consumer confidence continues to build as it has.”
The organization that serves parts of Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells and Whitley counties says other key numbers include:
- New Listings decreased 2.4 percent to 491.
- Pending sales were up 9.0 percent to 422.
- Closed sales decreased 6.3 percent to 531.
- Percent of original list price received remained flat at 93.5.
- Months supply of inventory was down 26.2 percent to 3.1 months.
