Friends of the Library
The next Friends meeting is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the library meeting room. Everyone is invited to join them. Stop by the adult circulation desk to pick up a brochure about the Friends. Membership dues are very reasonable and the organization supports the library and its programs.
Winter Preschool Story Time
Winter story time starts this week. Join staff on Wednesday, Feb. 3, for our first week as we talk about keeping warm outside. Preschool story time is for ages 3-6 and will be at either 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, or 7 p.m. Thursdays. Staff will read “A Hat For Minerva Louise” by Janet Morgan Stoeke, “Froggy Gets Dressed” by Jonathan London; and “The Mitten” by Jan Brett. After listening to stories, get ready to make your very own glitter snow play dough. After we make snow, we will enjoy some hot chocolate and powdered sugar snowball donuts. If you have not registered your child yet, come in or call the library.
Afternoon Knitting Club
Knitting club meets from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in the teen are of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Learn how to knit or continue working on a current project.
Adult Craft Night
Join us at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, for our next adult craft night. Kelly Engle is coming back to show us how to make a valentine heart wreath. Cost to make the wreath is $6, and all materials will be provided. If you want to participate, you need to sign up by 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, and money is due at the time of sign up. The heart wreath is on display now at the adult circulation desk if you want to take a look. We hope to see you come out and enjoy a craft night at the library.
Closing Early for In-Service
We will be closing early at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, for a staff in-service. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. There are drop boxes for books and DVD’s at the south end of the building if you need to return any books after hours. The library will reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Dial-A-Story for Children
Children love to use Dial-A-Story. Call (574) 658-9540, and children can listen to a story over the phone. The story is changed weekly, so there is always something new to listen to. Help your child dial today.
