Closing Early for Staff In-service
We will be closing early at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, for a staff in-service. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. There are drop boxes for books and DVDs at the south end of the building if you need to return any books after hours. The library will reopen on at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Winter Preschool Story Time
Join us this week for preschool story time with staff. Story time is offered at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, or at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. Preschool story time is for ages 3-6. Our theme for the week is keeping warm inside. Come ready to make valentines for someone special! First, staff will read “Pigs In Love” by Teddy Slater, “Hugs and Hearts” by Toni Trent Parker, and “The Great Valentine’s Day Mix-Up” by Saxton Moore.
After we listen to stories, we will make valentines for the special people in our lives. When our valentines are done, enjoy a snack of Little Debbie Heart Cakes and Kiss Rings. If you have not registered your child yet, come in or call (574) 658-4312 to get signed up.
Dial-A-Story for Children
Children love to use Dial-A-Story. By calling (574) 658-9540, children can listen to a story over the phone. The story is changed weekly, so there is always something new to listen to. Help your child dial today.
Friends of the Library News
Do you have lots of books or magazines laying around the house, gathering dust? Why not donate them to the library for others to buy and read! The Friends of the Library welcomes all your donations of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and sheet music. Feel free to go through our collection and purchase a few things as well. Each book/cd costs .50. The Friends are also selling cloth book bags for $12. Come in and purchase a bag at the circulation desk upstairs and support your local library. Ask for a Friends brochure at the circulation desks. Annual membership fees are very reasonable. Come be a part of a group that helps the library.
