William A. Sommers
William A. Sommers, 61, Plymouth, passed away at 2:01 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at the home of his brother, Tim. Bill was born on September 29, 1954, in LaPorte, to the late Alfred and Dona (Walters) Sommers. He was a traveler and lived in many different parts of the United States, always coming back home to be with his family. Bill was a talented carpenter. He served his country with the United States Army.
Bill is survived by his two children: Deserra (Jason) Lewis, Atlanta, Ga.; Nicholas (Jacquelyn) Sommers, Roby, Mo.; four grandchildren: Shenley; Oren; Ryean; Kai; the mother of his children: Penny Sommers, Culver; one sister: Penney Sommers, Tenn.; three brothers: Marc (Leah) Sommers, Albuquerque, N.M.; Tim Sommers, Plymouth; Rich Sommers, Plymouth; three nephews: Joshua Sommers, Utah; Jared (Elaine) Sommers, Plymouth; Zachary (Claudia) Sommers, Hawaii; and one niece: Alyson Sommers, Tenn. Along with his parents, one brother: Chic Sommers, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the BNR Building, Argos. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting with funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of William A. Sommers may be donated to Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis or to Mentone United Methodist Church.
