Curtis Eugene Parrett
Curtis Eugene Parrett, 31, Columbia City, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington. Born on Jan. 2, 1985, in Columbia City, he was the son of Neil and Debbie(Utter) Parrett.
Curtis was a lifetime Whitley County resident and attended local schools, graduating from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2003. Curtis most recently worked for CRI Construction as a skilled laborer, and had previously worked for Micropulse, Inc. as a CNC machinist. Curtis enjoyed motorcycle riding, drag racing his Mustang, golfing at Magic Hills, and most of all spending time with his daughter, where he reveled in trips to the local parks and the zoo. Curtis was noted to be the best nail painter in the world, in addition to doing hair.
Survivors include his daughter: Caydence Parrett; former sweetheart: Chelsie Byer; mother: Debbie (Jeremiah Wittwer) Parrett, Columbia City; father: Neil (Julie) Parrett, Fort Wayne; paternal grandfather: Robert Glenn Parrett Sr., Albion; maternal grandmother; Teresa Utter; maternal grandfather: Carl Utter, Mo.; maternal great-grandmother: Pat Hartman, both of Columbia City; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Clara Bell Parrett-Wineland; and maternal great-grandfather: Ralph Lee Hartman.
Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Curtis may be made to Caydence’s Education Fund.
