Ann (Driscoll) Kirkman
Ann (Driscoll) Kirkman, 68, Columbia City, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 2, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy William Driscoll and Icel (Tiernan) Driscoll.
She was raised Catholic and had worked in the cafeteria at the Des Moines General Hospital. While working at Babe’s Restaurant in Des Moines, she met Gerald Kirkman and fell instantly in love. A week later the two were married on May 4, 1970. She and Gerald would leave Iowa in June of 2002 and move to Columbia City, to be closer to his sister and brother-in-law. Ann enjoyed watching wrestling with her family, collecting Beanie Babies, playing bingo and going out and eat.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Gerald Kirkman; sister: Mary (Larry) Lutz, Iowa; sister-in-law: Beverly (Richard) Kohne, Columbia City; brother-in-law: Paul Kantack, Miss.; four nieces; two nephews. Shew as preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Icel Driscoll; sister: Cathrine Kantack; and brother-in-law: Gary Kirkman.
Local visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at DeMoney-Grimes Columbia City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place next Saturday, Feb. 20, in Iowa . She will be laid to rest by her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery in Keystone, Iowa.
