NORTH WEBSTER — The following events are taking place at North Webster Public Library:
School Age
Preschoolers are having “Fun with Food” during the winter session of preschool story time at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday morning through April 6. The children learn about different kinds of foods through stories, activities and crafts along with socializing with other children. Story Time is geared towards ages 3 to 5, but siblings are welcome, too.
Older children, ages 5-12, are invited to the library’s monthly LEGO Club from 1-2:30 p.m Saturday, Feb. 13. It’s a creative time of free-style building fun that you can enjoy with your child. LEGOs are provided. Crafts and stories, held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, is another creative activity school age children can enjoy at the library.
Adult Programs
Writer’s Corner provides a creative outlet for adults who like to write. At 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, the group will share their compositions about a childhood adventure. We don’t critique grammar or spelling. We focus on expressing ideas in writing, sharing ideas and techniques, and encouraging one another. Whether you’re an accomplished writer or a novice, we all learn together during Writer’s Corner held the third Monday each month.
Read, Eat And Discuss Book Club also meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15. The book club will be discussing “The Good Soldiers” by David Finkel. Even if you haven’t had time to read the book, come to the discussion and learn about this non-fiction book that chronicles the deployment of the 2-16 “Rangers” during the 2007 troop surge in Iraq as they experience the reality of war. Next month’s selection is “The Bondwoman’s Narrative” by Hanna Craft, an historical autobiography written in the 1850s by a runaway slave. Pick up a copy at the library next week and join the conversation on Monday, March 21.
We had so much fun at last month’s Adult Coloring for Relaxation that another session is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. Enjoy coloring beautiful designs while listening to soothing music. It’s a creative way to relax, unwind and enjoy the company of others. The library provides all the coloring supplies.
Mark your calendars for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13. The library will host “The Big Deal Reveal Fashion Show” in the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall with new fashions for ladies and children by Gypsy Jack Fashions. It will be a lovely afternoon of fashions, food, and friends.
