They Didn’t Give Up
Dear Editor:
I was going to the movie with my wife on Friday night. As we approached the theater, we saw the lights and heard the sirens of the emergency vehicles arriving just ahead of us. We parked and walked to the entrance and we were asked to wait outside.
We stood there in 50 degrees and very windy, watching the drama unfold inside. The EMTs and firefighters were feverishly administering CPR to someone lying on the floor. As one person tired, another would step in to take over the chest compressions. For over 40 minutes they hung in there never giving up on the lady lying on the floor. They continued chest compressions as they loaded her into the ambulance.
Someday that might be one of my loved ones lying on the floor, I have some comfort knowing that our police, firemen, and EMTs will be there and won’t give up on us.
To all of the team who tried to save that ladies life last night, thank you.
